Jake Conner’s Artist Statement:
Painting, drawing, sculpting, and building my materials all with my own hands is my way of metabolizing my experience in active addiction and recovery. Making is what keeps me sober and alive, and transmuting the intensity of my emotions into visceral pieces is what keeps me sane.
My work is with the profane, the aesthetic extreme, the absurdities and unknowns of human consciousness, the sublime veiled in viscera and set ablaze.
